Medicine Reminders — FamAI
You set up your parent's medicine schedule once. FamAI sends a WhatsApp reminder at each time, in Hindi. Your parent replies to confirm. If there's no reply after 30 minutes, one gentle follow-up is sent. You see the adherence log.
What it does
FamAI sends scheduled medicine reminders directly on WhatsApp — no app to download, no push notifications to enable. Your parent gets a message at the right time, confirms they've taken it, and that's it. The response is logged so you can check the adherence trend without calling every day.
Who it's for
Parents: Independent seniors with chronic conditions (BP, diabetes, thyroid) who miss doses because of routine disruptions — a visitor, a serial, a late morning — not because they don't care.
Adult children: Those who want to know if doses are being taken without making their parent feel monitored. Especially useful for NRIs and those living in different cities.
How it works
- You set up your parent's medicines and times via FamAI (done once, takes a few minutes).
- At each scheduled time, FamAI sends a WhatsApp message to your parent.
- Your parent replies — "le li", "haan", or anything confirming — and FamAI logs it as taken.
- If there's no reply after 30 minutes, one follow-up is sent.
- You can check the adherence log anytime via the FamAI dashboard.

Languages supported
Reminders are sent in Hindi by default. If your parent responds in English or Hinglish, FamAI understands and adjusts.
Privacy and data handling
Medicine names and times are stored per parent. The adult child sees the adherence log — not a real-time notification every time a reminder is sent or responded to. FamAI does not share health data with third parties.
What it costs
Free during the founding-families launch.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my parent doesn't reply to the reminder?
One follow-up is sent 30 minutes later. After that, the dose is logged as no-response. FamAI does not send repeated messages — one reminder, one follow-up.
Can FamAI remind for multiple medicines at different times?
Yes — you can set different medicine names and different times. Morning, afternoon, evening, or specific hours. Each gets its own reminder.
Does FamAI verify the medicine was actually taken?
No. FamAI tracks the reply. If your parent says they took it, it's logged as taken. Physical verification requires human presence.
How does the adult child see the log?
Via the FamAI dashboard. You see adherence percentage and recent responses. You don't get a ping every time a reminder is sent.
Is this suitable for parents with dementia?
No. FamAI is for independent seniors who use WhatsApp daily. For dementia, physical medication administration by a caregiver is required.
